AMADEO, The Coffee Capital of the Philippines

Starbucks coffee, Coffee bean, Caffe Nativo, and different coffee shops. These are only few popular and favorite places of people especially of the teen agers when we want to get relax and chill out on weekends. But for your information, my home town is known as the “Coffee Capital of the Philippines”. Amadeo is a small town in Cavite wherein more than 80 percent of the land area are planted with coffee that’s why it is known as the coffee capital. Amadeo abounds in Liberica, Robusta, Excelsia, and Arabica beans which helped save the booming local industry.

Amadeo has its own festival called “Pahimis Festival” wherein it celebrate during February with different programs and activities for all of the “amadeans”. This festival promotes Cavite coffee for domestic and worldwide consumption, revive the farmers interest in coffee farming, and enhance the coffee yields.

With regards to festival activities, it includes street dancing competitions, thanks giving mass, cultural presentations, and even free coffee with diferrent stations.

Our home town is such a small town but have a lot of meaningful creatures. People in Amadeo are so thoughtful and generous wherein every morning when they caught you walking along the street, they will tend to shout at you to take coffee first before going to farm. Aside of having a cold weather, our town also has an array of boutique resorts and quaint cafes which can make a visit to Amadeo as relaxing as a coffee break.
